Sharing some thoughts.

We are so happy that all of you have been following our blog, and that some of you have even created a blog for your own! How cool!

The buzz over the last week for us has been the deployment. As hard as it has been for Morgan and I trying to adapt to the emotions and feelings, I think about how hard it is for others too. These blogs have been some what therapeutic for me, because I tend to keep my feelings as mine. But as we make our way close to the time... and still do not know all the details, it's real and scary. Morgan and I have a full agenda in February, of meetings and preparation that will lead us up to the day. If there are any questions or concerns any of you may have, please ask. Though, we can't say much, there is alot more that can be said over the phone.

We are trying to plan a trip up north in the next few weeks, we are not sure of the dates but we will let you know.

On a lighter note... for dinner the other night i made this salad and and though i would share It was GOOD!

Ahi Tuna Avocado Salad

2 Ahi tuna steaks

Bag of mixed greens salad

Cherry Tomatoes

1/2 Cucumber

Avocado Salsa (see recipe below)

1 tbsp Dijon mustard

2 tbsp soy sauce

1 tsp of sesame oil

2 tbsp of cracked pepper

1 tbsp of sesame seeds

Avocado salsa

1/2 red onion

1 tomato

1 avocado

2 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro

1 tbsp of lime juice

Cut ingredients and place in bowl. Do not mash avocado. mix in lime juice and let sit for 5 minutes.

Mix Dijon mustard, soy sauce, sesame oil in a bowl. Place Ahi stakes in and let sit for 5 minutes. Mix Pepper and sesame seeds on a plate and set aside. Arrange salad with tomatoes and cucumber then place salsa in middle. Turn on heat and your pan hot. Remove stakes from marinade and dip edges in pepper and seed mix, dipping until all edges are covered. Place steaks in pan and let cook for 4-5 minutes on each side. Slice steaks, place on top of salad. Serve and enjoy!

cool! I am going to try that recipe. Keep the good ones coming! I love getting new ideas to my narrow list of things I make, ha!

Ps. I still can't figure out why the heck I can't follow your blog. I wonder if it's because it's private? It says the address doesn't exist...weird.
